Amidst the preparation you have to think about the reward. Eyes on the prize, right? We spend a lot of time thinking and talking and dreaming about Europe and the Caribbean, but slowly creeping up our must-see-soon list is Buenos Aires, Argentina.
We actually considered going a few years ago, back in 2009 or so, when the Euro was still crazy expensive. All the research indicates it’s a beautiful city, and just felt a little on the exotic side: a little off the beaten path for most Americans. The economy settled down, the dollar bounced back against the Euro, and as anyone who reads our blog (or my old blog, chuckros.wordpress.com) we took the “easy” road and wound up back in Europe for our last intercontinental holiday. Europe might intervene once more before we take an extended overseas sojourn (just seems right that our first multi-month adventure is Europe), but I don’t think Argentina (and neighboring Uruguay) will wait much longer after that.
